Bed bug bite treatment tips – Bed Bug Treatment Site
As if having bed bugs in your bed isnt bad enough, having them bite you while youre sleeping just adds insult to injury. Bed bug bites, depending on the individual person, can be very painful and irritating. For some people, they might not even know they were bitten. If you are one of those unlucky individuals that react strongly to bed bug bites, there are a few bed bug bite treatment options.
Before you treat a bed bug bite, be sure the bite is from an actual bed bug. Unfortunately, bed bugs are not the only bugs that can get in your bed and bite you. Bed bug bites look much like bites from other insects such as mosquitoesand fleas. You will generally find bites on one area of your body. The bites will generally be red and of various sizes.
One way to confirm the bites are from bed bugs is to check your bed, bedsheets and pillows for signs of bed bugs. Detecting bed bugs in your bed will help you confirm the bites are in fact from bed bugs.

Bed bug bites – What do they look like? – THERMAL REMEDIATION …
What do bed bug bites look likeand how can you initially be totally sure that the bites in question didnt come from another source, like fleas or spiders?
Bed bugs bites are often mistaken for other insect bites and rashes. Compared to other insect bites, bed bug bites usually form a linear or circular pattern on the exposed areas of the skin when sleeping such as legs, arms, neck, hand and face. Other insect bites such as mosquito and flea bites usually come in random. However, flea bites are usually seen on the ankles, wrists and behind the knees. Spider and mosquito bites are larger in size compared to bed bug bites and they swell quickly compared to the latter.
Bedbug bites vary dramatically between individuals. Some people do not respond at the start of an infestation and it may take many bites to get a response. Some people never get a bite response. If you wait till you get bites the problem may already be more advanced than you would care to imagine.
Bed bugs will not bite through materials so covering up will help avoid bites although exposed limbs and face may become an easy target.Experts believed that multiple bites in a pattern are caused by a disturbance in the feeding sequence of the insect. This happens when the victim moves or rolls over when the insect is sucking blood. It can also mean that the neighboring veins were easily accessed by the bed bugs. Studies show that bed bugs are attracted to carbon dioxide and body heat which makes humans their most susceptible victims.
When bed bug bites, they release an anti-coagulant to prevent an interruption in the bodys natural essence. The bugs also release anesthesia that numbs the skin when they suck blood from it. In just 3-5 minutes, bed bugs can already acquire their full meal. Bed bug bites are usually raised welts or small flat bites that can bring extreme redness and itchiness to the skin. However, there are bed bug bites that appear whitish or pinkish in color. It is important NOT to scratch the bites. They will fade and pass unless you scratch and damage the skin in which case secondary infection is common.
Treatment for bed bug bites:
One of the best ways to treat bed bug bites is to wash it in running lukewarm water for at least a minute using an antibacterial soap.Apopular treatment for bed bug bites is baking soda and water formed into a paste, that you then smear on the bites and let dry. Instructions are below.
1) Make sure to wash the bed bug bites with soap and water.

Bed bugs do not discriminate
Bed bugs do not discriminate
They may be associated with dirt and filth, but bed bugs do not show any type of discrimination.
Bed bugs have been found in the nicest homes and the fanciest hotels. In fact, they will set up home anywhere there are food sources, and those food sources are humans and pets.
Dr. Elisabeth Giedt, director of Continuing Education, Extension and Community Engagement at the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at Oklahoma State University, said bed bugs can be found just about anywhere.
As you travel during the holiday season and other times during the year, always be on the lookout for these pesky creatures, Giedt said. Keep in mind bed bugs dont live on people or pets. They live in the environment and feed on you and your pets. Although theyre annoying and their bites can cause itching and skin irritation, they arent known to transmit diseases.
While bed bugs do not spend as much time on your pets as fleas, ticks, lice and mites, they still bite your pets. And your pet can serve as a taxi and bring them into your home. From there the pesky creatures can find their way to your pets bedding, as well as your own.
Look for signs of bed bugs along mattress seams, along baseboards, seams of clothing, behind bedframes, in curtains and your pets bedding. Giedt said if you find yourself in the midst of a bed bug infestation, contact a professional pest management service to help you develop a plan to get the bed bugs out of your home.
As far as your pet is concerned, you wont have to throw out Rovers bedding or stuffed toys. Launder the animals bedding in the hottest temperature setting, preferably at a minimum of 120 degrees Fahrenheit, she said. Set the dryer on the medium/high or high setting. If the materials cant be washed, but can be put in the dryer, put them in the dryer on medium to high heat for about 20 minutes. If the pets bedding has holes or tears, consider getting rid of it and replacing it with something new.
When looking for a bed bug preventive, such as what you use for fleas and ticks, make sure the label indicates it is intended for bed bugs. If bed bugs are not listed, the product may not be effective. Using the wrong pesticide, or using it incorrectly to treat for bed bugs, can make you and your pet sick.
Bed bugs can be difficult to eradicate, so its important to work with a professional. Its likely the treatment plan will include more than one visit, Giedt said. Bed bugs are tough critters, but if you stay diligent you can get them out of your home.

How do I stop bed bug bites in bed? Protect my bed from bed …
updated 7/8/2013
This means you make sure bed bugs are not harboring in the bed frame, headboard, etc., and that you encase mattresses and box springs in high quality bed bug-proof encasements.
You have to work with the protocols of your pest management professional. Most pest professionals were aware of do recommend encasements. A carefully-encased mattress (with encasement sealed and kept free of tears) may help many people to eliminate bed bugs sooner, avoid bed bug bites, and save or protect an expensive mattress. Read our encasements FAQ for some of the pros and cons, and expert recommendations.
Bedbugs can crawl onto the bed and bite you, but you are taking steps to ensure they do not live there. If they cross poison on the way to you, any meal will hopefully be their last. You may use a Packtite Passive Monitor/BBAlert Passive Monitor, which encourages bed bugs to harbor inside so they can be detected easily. Alternatively, you may use pitfall/interceptor monitors like Climbup Interceptors or Blackout Bed Bug Detectors to catch any bed bugs climbing onto or off of the bed (read more about Climbup Interceptors and Blackout Bed Bug Detectors here). These two approaches (passives vs. interceptor/pitfall monitors) are quite different, and mixing them is not usually the best idea.
Here, you are trying to get bedbugs out of your bed, and keep them out, so they cannot bite at night.
Isolating the bed is controversial, and though it may help people who are being bitten very badly or who have serious allergic reactions or who are in great distress may to try and avoid getting bed bug bites while in bed, it also may actually mean you are fighting bedbugs longer. This is so because bed bugs may spread further around your home (and remember: they will still bite you outside of the bed).
The theory behind isolating is that bed bugs will still try to get to you, but they should be trapped on the way, and you should be able to avoid bed bug bites while sleeping.
In a few cases, however, bed bugs are said to have dropped down from the ceiling to bite people in isolated beds. It seems to be a rare occurrence, but a possibility. More often, beds not thoroughly isolated have allowed people to continue to be bitten by bed bugs. If youre going to isolate, you must be meticulous and thorough.
And remember, if bedbugs cannot bite at night, they will bite during the daytime, as you sit in chairs or go about your day. For this reason, many would recommend instead that you simply protect the bed, but do not isolate it.
Many people prefer to protect rather than isolate the bed because having bed bugs biting you in bed, or finding evidence they were there (cast skins, blood spots, etc.) is a sure sign you still have a bed bug problem and require further treatment. If you isolate and dont react to bed bug bites you get during the day, it may be harder to verify bedbugs continued presence. Isolating may also mean they spread further around your home, since they may have trouble reaching you in bed, where they used to feed. Protecting the bed instead, and using pitfall/interceptor monitors like Climbup Interceptors or Blackout Bed Bug Detectors as a tool for catching bed bugs as the wander onto or off of the beds legs, or using Packtite Passive Monitors (aka BBAlert Passive Monitors) (which offer an easily inspected harborage for trapping and monitoring bed bugs) would be my preference.

Bed Bugs Cause Fire in Marion Ohio, My Cleaning Products Gives Tips to Prevent Bed-Bug-Related Incidents
Marion, OH (PRWEB) January 03, 2014
Due to bed bugs, a house in Marion, Ohio recently went on fire. News website marionstar.com detailed the incident on its post on December 28, 2013. In connection with it, My Cleaning Products gave out a tip how the public could prevent such a bed-bug-related incident.
In the report, it was specified that the burned house was a duplex owned by Dave Cook, My Cleaning Products related. It said that it was at 800 Block of East Center Street.
The fire, according to the post, started after Cook tried to eliminate the bed bugs in a bedroom with three kerosene torpedo heaters, MCP shared. It added that they got in contact with an object which started the flame. Good thing, it stated, the blaze was contained in the attic and nobody was hurt. Nevertheless, it relayed that it still left a costly damage with an estimated worth of $22,500.
Here is an excerpt from the post Bed Bugs Started Fire by My Cleaning Products.
A duplex at 800 block of East Center Street in Marion, Ohio sustained quite a damage from a fire on Saturday. And it was all because of bed bugs the tiny vampire-like critters.
Shortly after 3 am on December 28, smoke was seen at the said two-story building owned by Dave Cook. A report had it that his attempt to kill bed bugs via heat set the place in blaze.
According to MCP, bed bugs could truly bring in unnecessary spending. Besides the treatment, it stated that those expenses could cover replacement of furniture pieces infested by them or damaged by any bed-bug-related incident as fire.
Given that and the fact that bed bugs are sneaky, My Cleaning Products asserted that one must always have a bed bug spray ready. That way, a person could kill bed bugs fast and prevent the worst of the things it could bring, such as causing a blaze, it stated.
However, of all the bed bug sprays in the market today, the company advised the public to get Bed Bug Bully over the others. It declared that it's the best choice as it is unlike most of the pesticides, which are made with harsh chemicals.
