Non-Toxic or Pesticide Bedbug Spray? Many people incorrectly believe that an all natural spray is not as effective as a pesticide, but within this site are many success stories that prove otherwise.

There are a number of effective bed bug sprays out there but what makes one better than the other? Here are the items you need to be concerned with when selecting a solution:

Here is a list of sprays that have visitors have recommended

One of the biggest concerns is that the spray acts as a repellant, which is what you DO NOT want. The goal is to spray them dead, not force them into another room, or worst, your neighbors apartment. A bed bug will retreat into the electrical socket and make its way into the adjoining apartment and is one of the most common mistakes landlords make doing it themselves!

There is a all natural product called bed bug dust or earth flour (Diatomaceous Earth [DE]) which comes from fresh water diatoms that die and fall to the bottom of the lake floor over time, layers of microscopic fossil shells build up which can be collected and used for a safe and effective insecticide. It works by dehydrating the bed bug over time when it comes in contact with the bed bug dust.

We have not found an aerosol based DE, and were assuming you dont want to blow powder around, so the next best option is a mixture of water and DE (earth flour) to create a spray.

The bed bug spray will not be effective when wet; only when the water evaporates leaving only the dust (DE) will it become an effective insecticide.

What is nice about this type of pest control is that should the bugs retreat to another areas, like the apartment next door, the bugs will eventually die from dehydration after having come in contact with the dust it only requires a little to kill the bug.
