Increase of Bed Bugs in Arkansas Tops This Year's Ranking, My Cleaning Products Suggests a Pesticide-Exempt Spray to …
Fort Smith, AR (PRWEB) December 23, 2013
The rise of bed bugs in Arkansas was determined the highest this year among all the other states. And wanting to help its residents, My Cleaning Products then suggested a pesticide-exempt bed bug spray to safely kill the pests.
A post from katv.com published on December 03, 2013 stated that it was a report from a pest-control company that identified Arkansas as the state with the biggest rise of bed bug calls since last year, My Cleaning Products shared. Particularly, the increase was said to be almost 50 percent.
The majority of the calls, according to the report, were from residences, MCP relayed. And according to a personnel of the pest-control company that revealed the increase of the critters, the fact that there are more travels these days was one of the probable reasons behind the rise of the pesky creatures.
Below is a part of the post Bed Bug Rise Highest in Arkansas by My Cleaning Products.
Ever since their return, bed bugs had been rising. However, this year, Arkansas was determined as the state with the highest increase of them.
Based on the report of a pest-control company, an almost 50 percent increase of bed bug calls was recorded since the past year in Arkansas. Most of them, it was said, were made with the victims in panic asking exterminators to get to the site quick.
My Cleaning Products said that indeed, bed bugs had become more prevalent. And because of that, it stated that everyone must now be even more careful of their presence.
Besides taking preventive measures, MCP stated that the public must also be ready to kill bed bugs quickly as anyone could now pick them up anywhere. That way, one could prevent them from multiplying and causing even more problems, it said.
To be prepared to eliminate those critters promptly, MCP cited that one must particularly need a bed bug spray. Nonetheless, it said that a person must be keen with his or her choice as many of the products for those pests contain harmful chemical ingredients.

Bed bugs create itchy bumps on the skin when they bite. The insects produce a chemical that causes the itching, according to Bed Bugs Guide. Not everyone who is bitten by a bed bug will have an itchy bite, according to the site. Using creams and lotions soothe the itching, which prevents you from scratching. Using items like eggplants and oatmeal to remove the harmful chemicals in the bite also reduces itching. An open bite takes longer to heal and can cause an infection.
Apply a dime-sized drop of calamine lotion or hydrocortisone itch cream to your finger.
Gently massage the lotion or cream on top of and around the bite. Allow it to soak into the skin.
Spray anti-itch spray over the bite. Allow it to dry before covering with any clothing.
Wet a cotton ball with peppermint oil. Do not soak it. Wipe the wet cotton ball on the bed bug bite.
Pour 1/4 cup of water into a cup. Add 1 tablespoon of oatmeal and stir. Apply the oatmeal to the bug bite. Rinse the oatmeal off after it hardens, according to Health News.
Cut a small slice of eggplant. Hold the eggplant on the bug bite for about five minutes.

Bed Bug Bite Symptoms – Buzzle
Bed bugs are tiny, oval insects which cannot fly and belongs to the insect family Cimicidae. They have flat bodies that reach up to 5-7 mm in length in their adulthood and are orange-brown in their color. They are so named because of the preference of its habitat e.g. mattresses, sofas etc. They feed by sucking on the blood of humans and animals and are mainly active at night. Bed bugs bites are usually itchier than that of a mosquito bite and can be felt only after a period of one hour. This happens due to the presence of anesthetics in their saliva, which prevents clotting of blood. This helps in the sucking of blood without interruption.
Symptoms of Bed Bug Bites
Now it's time to identify the rashes. These are one of the insect bite rashes, which can usually be sensed after one hour of the bite. But to some people, it is only after a few days or even after a few weeks that the rashes appear and it is determined by the body's reaction to the chemicals present in the bugs' saliva. To identify the rash, it is a small, red and round bump, almost similar to that of a mosquito bite, but it swells more. Slowly the rash spreads all over, which is an indication that you have fallen prey to those disgusting bugs. Again in some cases, the rash may look similar to a bite mark in sequence. This especially happens to people who constantly move when they are sleeping. They quickly run back to their hiding places as soon as they notice movement around them. Some people may experience allergy resulting from bed bugs. It is not quite an allergy but an irritant effect to the insect bites. Though most of the people are not vulnerable to bed bug allergy, there are instances of anaphylaxis. It occurs as a result of bed bug bites.
Treatment and Prevention
Step 1 Wash thoroughly all your sheets and dust your pillows and furniture. The washing should be done in the hottest possible setting ever. When you have finished with them, spray generously either with one of those bed cover sprays or with a strong perfume.
Step 2 Before you go to bed, apply a body lotion with a strong fragrance all over the body. This will help in preventing the bugs from smelling human flesh and blood. Since the bugs are blind, this technique will confuse them temporarily. But remember that you should apply a really generous amount of the lotion.
Step 3 Open all the windows and relax. You will be free of bug bites for some days.
Whenever you suspect that a particular rash is a bug bite, examine it for a few days. Generally there is itching for a number of days together, if it is a bug bite rash. And unlike a mosquito bite, it remains swollen for weeks together and does not heal quickly. One of the best preventive measure and cure is calamine lotion. Apply calamine lotion as a preventive as well as a cure, whenever you see symptoms of a bed bug bite. It is quite cheap and readily available over the counter. In case you don't find calamine lotion, apply an antiseptic cream. It will reduce the swelling as well as the itchiness. But before you start anything, it is always better to consult a doctor for further advice. With these precautionary measures , you are sure to live a bug free life for the rest of your life.

Hello, welcome to easy steps to ridding bed bugs.
Before we start anything I'd like to share with you a bit of information about bed bugs.
The bed bug start off as small creatures, so small that they cannot be seen with the naked eye. These little creatures grow off eating your blood, they can withstand many temperatures but none too cold and none too hot. They are very skinny and strong for their size which allows them to crawl throughout many small cracks in our homes. They are not the fastest insects but are very hard to find. If you start seeing them walk around your home during broad day or while you have lights on in the home then you have a great infestation. Usually they stay in one spot of the home and travel for food when they need to. They can live for months with ought any food. The most common place for them to be is inside the bed, hence "Bed Bugs". If anywhere else, they like to hide in small dark cracks.
About the bites, when a bed bug bites you, it doesn't appear right away. It could take as long as 9 weeks, usually about 5 minutes though. Some people do not feel the bites, some do. But they always leave marks. Once I teach you how to get rid of the bites, some might still appear but that's because they were previous. The bed bug doesn't transfer any diseases and not much happens when they bite you, besides a small swelling near the bite and a lot of uncomfortable itchiness. Good ways to get the bites itchiness to go away is to eat some garlic, just a bit.. It helps a lot, and use rubbing alcohol on the bitten parts. Now let's get down to business.
There are many ways to get rid of bed bugs, you have to commit to it though. Usually they would be in your room so first thing is, clean your room. If it's already clean, good job 🙂 If not, stop being lazy, do it once 🙂 You'll be happy in the end.
If your under a really warm climate and its hot near your area, clean your room and put your mattress and comforters and such outside, let the heat kill them. If you don't want to move it outside, open the window, make sure the light is hitting them, other than that, get some insect repellent, preferably gardening repellent, it's a liquid, just spray it around your home, or let it leak around your home, put it on your bed and stuff, make sure you get rid of the sheets on your bed first. Then spray it good, get it all over, make sure your windows open. Leave the room for about 12 hours. When you come back it will have a bid of an odour but that's okay.
Now if you live in a cold climate area, what you need to do is open your window, just open it. No big deal but make sure all the electronics you have are out of the area, computers, cell phones... Blah, because the cold could ruin them, 🙂 Happened to my computer, I left my window open to get rid of the bugs while I had the home pest control sprayed throughout my room and my computer crashed, I like my new one better anyways :). Now make sure you sprayed the room well.
If you see that the bugs went away, congratulations. If they come back in a few weeks that means that the bugs are also somewhere else in your room, at this point you can call an exterminator.. Or... You can do-it-yourself. It's a lot cheaper and not that hard, the thing about gardening pest control is that the bugs like the smell, they go to it, and it kills them very fast. So spray it around your home, but leave a window open or something, because the smell of that could knock you out, make you dizzy. Worst of all, diarrhoea. Well that concludes my guide, good luck all of you 🙂

Anything that is discarded should be placed in a sealed garbage bag located within that room. Bags should be discarded outside of the home.
Do not spread the bed bugs within your home or to the homes of others by disposing of infested items not sealed in bags. Infested mattresses or box springs that are going to be discarded should be completely wrapped in plastic prior to removal from the room and should be marked "do not reuse."
Small cracks where wires and pipes come in are bed bug highways. Seal them up with caulk. While you're at it, seal up the cracks behind your baseboards and molding after you've vacuumed them.
If you vacuum up bugs and eggs you can run the risk of infesting your vacuum cleaner and spreading the infestation. Be sure all the contents of the vacuum are sealed in a bag before you dispose of it. Also make sure the hose, bristles, and attachments are cleaned and free of bugs and eggs before storing or reusing your vacuum. Don't forget to treat the wheels of the vacuum.
Do not vacate your home in order to starve the bed bugs to death. Bed bugs can live for six months or more without a meal. And do not use a bug bomb or fogger since these products only kill a few bugs and disperse the others throughout your home.
Pull the bed away from the wall, and make sure that your bedspread and blankets don't touch the floor. Seal your mattress and box springs in bed bug proof encasements; this will kill any bed bugs that are trapped inside.
Do not switch your sleeping arrangements to another bed or sofa since the bed bugs will spread even more as they will follow you to your new sleeping location.
If you have detected early signs of bed bugs, it's possible to exterminate them on your own. It isn't easy though. Depending upon the size and extent of your bed bug infestation, it can take 6 weeks or more. Be patient and diligent.
The first thing you are going to want to do is gather up all suspected infested items such as bedding, clothing, towels and the like. Place them all into the dryer for a 15 minutes. It only takes five minutes at 113 F to kill all stages of bed bugs and their eggs.
