Residents of one apartment building in Milwaukee claimed that bed bugs were plaguing their building. A report from cbs58.com posted on March 26, 2014, shared the details of the incident. Meanwhile, wanting to help the public avoid the worst effects of the critters, My Cleaning Products shared a number of tips how to kill bed bugs quick.

In the report, the tenants said that the critters had been biting them all over. And to prove it, they showed photos of them and of their kids with bed bug bites.

However, the landlord was doing nothing to solve the problem, relayed the post. Neither was he giving the deposit of the renters back, it added.

When asked for any comment, the report related that the landlord gave none. Nonetheless, it shared that the city has scheduled an in the complex in the coming days.

The key to successfully do that, said My Cleaning Products, is to detect and eliminate bed bugs early. It detailed that in order to determine their presence early, one must always be on the alert for bed bug signs. On the other hand, to be able to kill them immediately after their presence is confirmed, it stated that a bed bug spray must be prepared beforehand.

Housing Authority and Dulle-Hamilton residents are battling bed bugs. /Juliette Dryer

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Residents in two Jefferson City affordable housing complexes, along with the city's housing authority, are battling a major problem; bed bugs.

Sandy Meier, who has lived in Dulle Tower for over four years, said she tries to stay in her own apartment all the time to avoid bringing in bed bugs.

"If you sit down here in the lobby you've gotta be careful who you sit next to...it's just that much out of hand. There's people picking them off their skin," Meier said.

"I look under my bed, under the cushions, under my chairs, couches...I look at the walls, I look in my bed mattress, box springs, dresser..."

Meier's neighbor, Debra Hardman, said she also takes precautions to avoid getting the bugs.

"I don't pick up things from other people, I don't take in things to my apartment from other people, I try to watch where I sit...if I sit down at all...I'm even to the point where I don't even want to get on the walls in the elevators," Hardman said.

Hardman said she's lived in either Dulle or Hamilton tower since 2001 and doesn't remember an outbreak of bed bugs as bad as the current one. Hamilton Tower is also experiencing a bed bug problem.

Jefferson City Housing Authority Executive Director Allen Pollock said the two towers have had problems with bed bugs for the past couple years, with big outbreaks coming in waves.

The Housing Authority owns the two low-income apartment buildings.

Bed bugs bother Dulle-Hamilton residents

For speaking out about a bed bug problem, a woman in Houston was allegedly kicked out of the shelter she was staying in. In connection with it, My Cleaning Products recommended a pesticide-exempt spray to help the public kill bed bugs fast and safe.

According to a report from kens5.com posted on March 26, 2014, the woman, who asked not to be named, left her abusive husband and stayed in a shelter for battered women and children in the state. However, it relayed that on Tuesday night, after just two weeks since she and her children came, they were kicked out.

As claimed by the mother of three, the critters feasted on her and her kids while they were in the facility, the report shared. And it was when she complained about it, as she claimed, that they were evicted, it added.

However, the report relayed that the shelter stated they would never evict a family for complaining about the critters. Regarding the matter of bed bug presence though, it related that some sources said the facility has dealt with them from time to time.

Because of that and the fact that bed bugs are sneaky, My Cleaning Products asserted that the public must then be wary of any bed bug sign. Those hints of their presence are the keys to eliminating them early, it said.
