The summer is a time of warm weather and vacation that everyone loves; people visit the beach, go on cruises, fly to other states or continents and visit a variety of travel destinations. Summer time is a great season though there are still numerous reasons to take extra safety percussion's when going away.

Since the winter and spring were cold and long, bed bugs have been hiding out in sofas and mattresses, planting eggs and wait for the warmer weather to arrive. Now that the summer is here bed bugs are finally showing themselves and they could be coming in large numbers. Plenty of pests, including bed bugs, will be coming around now that the weather is warm and nicer.

A bed bug is a parasite that was mainly carried by birds and dogs. When a bed bug bites you, it sucks a tiny portion of your blood but end up leaving itchy red rashes on your body. They like to nest in warm places such as homes and often stay hidden in the creases of beds or sofas. Bed Bugs got their name from the fact that they mostly being found in beds.

Bed bugs have become a serious pest problem all around the world. They can travel to many different places by using your clothing or luggage as transportation. These insects can infest a building very quickly if someone carries them in. People do not know when they carry bed bugs in since they are about the size of an apple seed, which makes them very hard to see. No matter where you stay, it is recommended to check the reviews of the place, people will usually share and report if they have noticed a bed bug infestation.

In early May, an elementary school in south New Jersey sent kids home with a letter warning parents of bed bugs in the school. No one knows who tracked in the bed bugs but the staff has found some bed bug eggshells. Even though there was only a few bed bugs found, the school brought in a pest control professional to handle the situation. Since the early discovery, the bed bug problem was handled promptly and they were unable to find any more bed bugs occurrences in that school.

With the summer arriving quickly you should always be on the lookout for bed bugs. No matter whether you stay at home or travel this summer, check your surroundings of where you are to make sure that you will not be the next person to deliver bed bugs with you.
