Bed Bugs In Georgia
Bed bugs are very small insects with scientific name Cimex lectularius. Through the decades, these insects are considered notorious pests in different countries, be it in the US, in Europe, in Asian countries and even in Africa.
When seen from the top bed bugs look like flattened creatures, and for sure, you wouldnt want to look at them at any other angle. They are so small, that one can hardly see and look at them, unless aided by magnifying glasses or lenses.
You have your own perception, as well as opinion of how bed bugs look like. But generally, as seen in pictures printed all over text books, magazines or even online through the Internet, bed bugs closely resemble their closest relativesmites.
Bed bugs are fast becoming pest problems in many countries, including the United States. Bed bugs are becoming a very rapidly populating pest, particularly in Georgia.
Eliminating bed bugs in Georgia
There are numerous ways to kill bed bugs in Georgia. The simple method is to capture them one by one, and try to ground them out. That would certainly kill them, but it will be tedious, gross, and will surely try your patience.
Applying pesticides or insecticides to infested areas can be a good and effective technique. But doing so would pose a lot of threats not only to your health but also to the health of everyone in the house. There are government laws in Georgia that will prevent you from doing so easily.
To ensure that no human can be exterminated along with the bed bugs, it would be wise to seek help of a credible and professional pest control company. There are several of those in Georgia. Pest control companies in Georgia know how to get rid of bed bugs better and effectively.
This measure can be considered the cheapest in the long run. You may have to pay a little sum for the services of these Georgia-based pest control firms but you do not have to keep on buying pesticides on Georgian pest shops or other modern equipment claimed to help get rid of bed bugs.

Public awareness needed to prevent bed bugs – Star Beacon …
(BPT) - One of the most feared household pests of the past decade has been the bed bug. What may be the most unnerving part about these tiny pests is how they hide in mattresses, couches and even dressers waiting for their next blood meal.
In recent years there has been an increase in the number of bed bug infestations across the country. About 99 percent of pest professionals have treated for bed bugs in the past year, according to a survey by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA).
Bed bugs have several qualities that specifically help them survive and spread, says Missy Henriksen, vice president of public affairs for the NPMA. The best ways to stop the spread of bed bugs are through education and taking precautions. Consumers should be aware of their surroundings when traveling and be vigilant about searching for signs of an infestation.
Understanding bed bugs
Bed bugs are often mistaken for being nocturnal. The truth is they are attracted to the carbon dioxide emitted by their hosts. For this reason, they tend to feed at night while a person is sleeping and emitting a steady stream of carbon dioxide. However, they will also consume a blood meal during the day - especially in heavily infested areas. Although bed bugs prefer to feed on humans, they will feed on other warm-blooded hosts, too.
Bed bugs hide very easily thanks to their small size and flat, seed-like shape, allowing them to squeeze into tiny cracks and crevices. They can also spread very quickly. One female bed bug can lay one-to-five eggs per day, several hundred in a lifetime. If left untreated, bed bugs can quickly become a much bigger problem for homeowners.
Keeping your home bed bug free
Bed bugs are very good hitchhikers. They can latch onto luggage, clothing or linens and easily move from place to place or room to room. The best defense against bed bugs is awareness and prevention, especially when traveling or on vacation.
If staying in hotels, even five-star accommodations, pull back the sheets on any beds and check for bed bugs themselves or the telltale signs theyve been there. Look for shed body casings, and dark red or brown spots on the mattress or along its seams. Consider packing a flashlight to use in these visual inspections. When checking an area for bed bugs, be sure any bags are placed off the floor on a hard surface. This reduces the likelihood of a bed bug latching onto it for a ride home. And once home, throw clothes in the dryer on high heat, vacuum the suitcase interior and exterior, and dispose of the vacuum receptacle contents immediately.

Massachusetts Bed Bugs | Bedbug Exterminator in MA
Do you have Massachusetts bed bugs at your location? For many residents the very idea seems impossible. Maybe in some far off, poverty stricken part of the Third World, but not in New England!
Yet the truth is that bed bugs are making their way into Massachusetts, and not just in the poorer parts of big cities but in the bedroom communities of suburbia. How is this possible? With people today traveling all over the world it is all too common for bed bugs to find their way into our homes from luggage, clothing, and hotel linen. The fact that some pesticides that are effective against bed bugs such as DDT have been banned for environmental reasons also has not helped. And it doesn't take much, just one female bed bug carrying eggs is sufficient to start an infestation.
How can you tell if you have bed bugs in Massachusetts? Bed bugs look the same as bed bugs anywhere else: small, flat, brown, oval and they do not have wings. They are so tiny that you often don't see them - but if they are there, you can feel them! Their bites cause reddish sores on your skin similar to a mosquito, although people who are especially sensitive can have more severe reactions. The good news is that bed bugs are not known to carry any serious diseases, but that is small comfort if you can't get a good night's sleep due to the biting pests.
So what can you do about bed bugs? Unfortunately, once you have them as unwelcome guests in your home not much can be done to get rid of bed bugs in Massachusetts on your own. Because they are so small it is a hopeless task to try to kill them all yourself. That is especially true if you live in an apartment, since bed bugs tend to spread to infest the whole building. Unless you treat the entire building, they will quickly find their way back from the infested apartments next door.
Therefore, once a bed bug infestation occurs, only the use of professional pest control or extermination services can solve the problem. While it's hard to put a price on a good night's sleep, if you've ever been a victim of bed bugs, then you know that it's a price worth paying.

Bed Bug Problem in Parkersburg
Since 2009 the Mid Ohio Valley Health Department recorded a major increase in bed bug complaints.
Bed bugs have shown up in places all across town, more commonly in apartments and hotels.
Health officials believe the bugs were brought here from another area since the bugs do tend to travel, such as when furniture is moved or through backpacks.
What the bugs do is hide during the day in upholstery, mattresses, and other furniture. Then they come out at night and feed on people.
"They don't transmit any diseases, it's only that uncomfortable rash that can come from the bites. Many people don't react to the bites though. So often, if a person does have bed bugs and are being bitten by them every night, they may not know that they have them because they don't react to the bites," says Jessica Woods of the Mid Ohio Valley Health Department.
If you suspect you may have bed bugs, you can remove them yourself when you see them or call pest control.
The Health Department also provides education on preventing the spread of bed bugs.
