No matter how nice or clean a bedroom looks, it could be infested. Bed bugs live anywhere people sleepin homes, hotels, hospitals and schoolsand quietly feed on human blood. In fact, you might not know you have bed bugs until you (or your customers) find the tell-tale itchy red bumps caused by their bites.

Finding and eliminating bed bugs is best left to the professionals. Bed bugs like to hide in small crevices, making them difficult to detect and even harder to kill. They often hide in bedroom walls, mattresses, carpet, nightstands and even alarm clocks.

Connors Pest Protection offers two types of bed bug inspection: visual and K-9. Our bed bug experts know what to look for and where to look for bed bugs in your home or business. Visual inspections by our trained service technicians are available for $50. But because bed bugs are tiny and adept at hiding in out-of-the-way places, detecting all of their hiding places through visual inspection is difficult.

For bed bug detection, dogs are our best friends. Bed bug dogs detect odors 10,000 times better than humans and use their strong sense of smell to quickly find bed bugs wherever they hide. The precision of K-9 inspections enables us to focus treatment only on the problem areas, which means lower costs and less disruption of your space. Connors partners with K-9 Pest Detection to offer cutting-edge canine bed bug inspections by certified trained dogs for $225.

Our goal to get rid of bed bugs is to effectively kill them with minimaldisruption of your home or business environment. After a thorough bed bug inspection, we recommend a customized treatment approach using heat treatment, conventional treatment or fumigation.

Heat treatment, or thermal remediation, involves the application of extreme heat to kill bed bugs. Our specially designed heat-generating equipment creates and maintains a precise high temperature that the bed bugs and their eggs cannot survive. This revolutionary treatment is environmentally responsible, and requires less planning and preparation.

In conventional bed bug treatment, environmentally responsible products are applied in conjunction with steam treatment. This treatment option is relatively more time-consuming and causes some living space disruption. Eliminating bed bugs using conventional methods requires a minimum of three intense treatments, usually scheduled two weeks apart.

For homes, fumigation is the most aggressive and effective treatment option.During fumigation, the building is secured in a gigantic plastic tent andthe entire interioristreated with a product called Vikane. Because of its higher cost andsignificant planning and preparationrequirements, we recommendfumigationforonly the most problematic bed bug infestations.

Ourthoroughtreatment process ends with a follow-up inspectionto ensure success. You will rest easy knowing the bed bugs are gone.

Bed Bugs' Trends Tracked While My Cleaning Products Shares a Tip to Get Rid of the Critters Cheap and Safe

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) January 14, 2014

A recent study about bed bugs traced the vampire-like critters in Philadelphia. Science news website sciencedaily.com related the details of it on its post dated January 09, 2013. Meanwhile, to help the residents get rid of the pest cheap and safe, My Cleaning Products shared a way how to do it with a bed bug spray.

Based on the post, the research particularly mapped out the bed bug hotspots in Philadelphia and tracked their seasonal trends, My Cleaning Products related. And as it detailed, it specifically determined that those crawlies affect more the south part of the city. Moreover, it shared that they tend to peak in August and go low in February.

The post said that the study was conducted by Michael Z. Levy, PhD, assistant professor in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, together with his colleagues, MCP stated. It relayed that it analyzed the calls to the Philadelphia Department of Public Health's Vector Control from 2008-2012 to determine the pest's pattern.

Below is an excerpt from the report Study Determines Bed Bug Patterns by My Cleaning Products.

Since their big comeback some 10 years ago, bed bugs have spread so wide and fast. But though knowledge about them has increased over the years, still they continue to become even more prevalent.

And so, to come up with a bed bug elimination method that is even more effective than ones available today, Michael Z. Levy, PhD, assistant professor in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB), along with his colleagues, conducted a new study. Its findings were published on January 8 in the Journal of Medical Entomology.

According to My Cleaning Products, knowing the patterns of bed bugs could indeed help someone in protecting himself from those critters. However, it warned the public to still be always ready to kill bed bugs promptly. And as it said, that's because they are sneaky.

To do that, MCP said that one would need a bed bug spray. Nonetheless, it stressed that the product must be safe apart from effective to protect the health of anyone who might be exposed to it.

Being an organic-based, the company stated that Bed Bug Bully makes the right product for the process. Because it contains no harmful chemicals, it cited that it also poses no risk to health. In fact, it shared that it's even on EPA's FIFRA 25(b) list for being pesticide-exempt. Additionally, it shared that it was already proven to effectively eliminate even bed bugs' eggs and nymphs.

CLEVELAND, Ohio Employees at the Justice Center in downtown Cleveland are on high alert after bed bugs were discovered inside the facility on Monday.

Darren Toms, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court, confirms to FOX 8 News that the bed bugs were found in a undisclosed area of the Justice Center sometime on Monday.

Bed bugs experts were on hand Monday afternoon to answer questions and provide treatment information to all employees.

According to the Cuyahoga County Bed Bug Task Force, bed bug numbers in offices tend to be low, increasing by periodic reintroductions; rather than through reproduction.

Toms explains that the Cleveland Department of Public Health, public health officials and pest control operators in northeast Ohio are responding to a significant increase in bed bug complaints.

However, authorities believe that Mondays finding is an isolated incident.

Toms goes on to say that, the bugs are found in office buildings, retail stores, hospitals, buses, or any other place where people gather.

It is estimated that tens of thousands people visit the Justice Center every week.

Alert: County employees informed about bed bugs, officials say they’re not infested

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Another bed bug has found at theCuyahoga County Justice Center and that has led to alarm among court employees.

The county held special meetings for court employees Monday, telling them what to watch for, and what to do when they spot a bed bug.

And now the court is ending out information to 500 court employees about bed bugs.

The bug found Monday was in a courtroom. Another found recently was on an administrative floor.

Ajustice center spokesperson released the following statement to the media:

The Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court is aware that bed bugs have been found in the Justice Center.

The areas in question have been treated and workers were advised of the discovery and provided with instruction on the prevention and treatment of bed bugs. An additional meeting with bed bug experts was held Monday afternoon for any interested Court employees.

Unfortunately, no office is totally safe from the potential for bed bugs or any other pests. According to the Cleveland Department of Public Health, public health officials and pest control operators in northeast Ohio and across the country are responding to a significant increase in bed bug complaints.

Bed bugs are found in office buildings, retail stores, hospitals, dormitories, nursing homes, libraries, movie theaters, buses, or any other place where people gather. With tens of thousands of people coming through the Justice Center every week, we are not immune.

TIGARD, Ore. -- A Tigard man who can use his dog to track down bed bugs in your house says this is the high season.

Usually I hear from people after the holidays, they travel and bring them back on luggage or their out-of-town guests leave them, explained Marty Neiman of K9 Bug Detection NW.

Neiman purposely brings the bugs into his house so he can train his two-year-old German Shepherd to track them down. As long as theres a scent, you can train a dog to detect anything, he said.

In a demonstration at his home, Neiman hid 6 bed bugs in a vial in the corner of the couch. The dog, named Ruger, found them in less than two minutes.

If you took his scent membrane and laid it out on the floor it would be larger than his skin. They filter a tremendous amount, Neiman explained.

And it's a busy time for Neiman and Ruger. Neiman said Portlands bed bug complaints are 30 times what they were a few years ago.

New York is the worst about a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, the Midwest is a little better and Seattle has more of a problem than Portland, Neiman said.
