Bed Bugs Toronto – Toronto Bed Bugs Help: Royal Forest …

Looking for a full service bed bugpest controlin Toronto? Royal Forest Pest Control is a reputable full service bed bug exterminator located in Toronto that has an 'A' Rating with the Better Business Bureau.

The integrated approach to get rid of bed bugs consists of an initial two treatments that comprise a full crack and crevice treatment in all rooms of the house and treatment of all furniture in those rooms (with the exception of the kitchen - a perimeter is done there) for each treatment when necessary. The two bed bug treatments are spaced 10 to 14 days apart and are designed to 'break the life cycle' of the bed bug infestation.

In certain circumstances a steam treatment of bedroom furniture may compliment the chemical bed bugs treatment. Steam can be a very effective method of killing bed bug eggs. Royal Forest will not apply pesticides to baby furniture, thence a thorough steaming of those articles is accomplished. Heat, when applied correctly, will kill bed bugs and their eggs and a professional bed bug specific steamer is utilized to do the job.

In addition to proper and professional bed bug extermination, it is very important to properly process bed bug infested laundry. Part of Royal Forest Pest Control is a laundry division.

Finally, a proper preparation of the bed bug infested home is an essential element of getting rid of bed bugs. Decluttering, moving of the furniture away from the walls by about a foot, emptying of dresser drawers and removal of light switch and electrical outlet cover plates and proppingup of the mattresses and box springsare necessary to give the bed bug exterminator proper access to areas that must be treated.

Some people are unable to properly prepare their home for bed bug extermination or simply do not have the time to do so.

Royal Forest Pest Control has a 'Prep' division that will send out a team of two who are specifically trained to prepare a home for bed bug treatment.

Tenant warns of brutal experience with bedbugs

One student back for the fall semester is warning others that long-term bedbug infestations can go unchecked in Halifax, even as unwitting new tenants move in.

After losing about $5,000 worth of belongings, Sara Lampinen says too much is at stake to allow lax pest control.

At the beginning of August, Lampinen arrived from Edmonton to sublet an apartment for seven months in Ocean Towers on Brunswick Street.

Just days after she moved in, she started getting bites.

The infestation was so bad that Lampinen, 23, could see bedbugs crawling around on her bed. She talked to building management and offered to show them her bites.

They said, No, no, we already know what they look like, she said.

They said they did have bedbug problems before, but they werent in the unit that I was in. So they obviously knew that there were bedbug infestations within the apartment building.

She only lasted three weeks in the apartment before giving up and moving out Friday. She said she threw out thousands of dollars worth of furniture and bedding, and her clothes needed to be specially laundered.

Managers at the building, which is owned by Toronto company CAPREIT, first arranged for Lampinens apartment to be sprayed, but she said the one-time treatment didnt clear up the problem.

Bedbugs can live in walls and easily travel between apartments, and pest control experts often recommend treating a whole building or a whole section of a building rather than a single unit.

Bed bug outbreak reported in Bismarck

BISMARCK, N.D. -- Officials at Edgewood Vista Villages say they are taking measures to deal with a bed bug outbreak.

In an Aug. 15 letter addressed to residents, executive director April Bishop wrote, We have had a confirmed case of bed bugs in the north part of our building.

It was unclear from the letter which building Bishop was referring to.

Edgewood Vista Villages operates two facilities in Bismarck on Dominion Street and Colorado Lane and one in Mandan on 39th Avenue Southeast.

Three phone messages left by the Tribune for Bishop were not returned.

The letter stated a specialized cleaning company certified to deal with bed bugs was being brought in and ongoing inspections and monitoring are being conducted.

In addition, Bishop wrote a company that uses a trained dog to detect bed bugs was being brought in to complement heat and spray treatments.

Michelle Feist, an epidemiologist with the North Dakota Department of Health, said bed bug infestations are not required to be reported to the health department.

Feist said bed bugs are not known to transmit diseases.

It can happen anywhere, she said. Even in a five-star hotel.

Senior living center battles bed bugs after WMBF Investigation

GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - The owner of the assisted living facility battling a bed bug problem is not only speaking with WMBF News Anchor Heather Biance, she gave Heather a chance to scope out the facility herself.

When our story aired last Thursday we told you the owner of Oasis Residential Home hadn't had a professional exterminator out at the facility, but that's changed since our last visit.

"It's possible that it could be in most of the rooms, just in group living, it's hard to contain," explains Oasis Residential Home Administrator Mazie Graham.

Battling bed bugs is becoming a full-time job for her.

Graham explains, "It's actually been about a year, but it wasn't a big problem. It'd be one or two bed bugs here or there."

Since then, just when she thinks she has it under control, they resurface.

Graham says three months ago, she changed her tactic from treating whenever it became a problem to an aggressive plan: from using commercial grade chemicals, steaming the furniture, bombing the facility and putting plastic covers on the beds, this is now the drill twice a week.

"We even covered up the zippers on the plastic covers on the beds, because they say they can get in that way,"Graham says.

Oasis came under scrutiny last week when a former employee and someone who was contracted to clean the floors came forward, disgusted with the living and work conditions.

"With me working night shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so I was getting bit also by bed bugs," explains former Oasis employee, Rochelle Greene.
