There is considerable research that shows bed bugs thermal death point is around 120 degrees Fahrenheit and bed bugs at all stages of life will be dead in less than one minute at this temperature.

Treating with heat allows you to kill all the Bed Bugs within the treatment area in a single visit. As opposed to conventional treatments which require multiple visits.

Another advantage of heat treatment is that all Bed Bugs are killed without the hours of preparation required for a conventional treatment. Which requires throwing away or cleaning clothes, toys, sheets, comforters, games, stuffed animals and on and on. A single, no-chemical treatment and the entirebed bug infestation isgone.

We begin by raising the temperature in the treatment zone to 120F over approximately an 8 hour period. During this time our crew will monitor the temperature. Fans are used to circulate the heat and make sure the temperature is evenly raised throughout the treatment area.

Re-entry is permitted as soon as the area returns to normal temperature.

1. Bring Heat.Specialized high output electric heaters are placed and continually adjusted throughout the space, introducing and re circulating heated air with a temperature target of 120 F not to exceed 135 F.

2. Monitor.Temperatures are monitored in real time from a remote location using wireless sensors and also by hand with infrared handheld devices to ensure lethal temperatures safely reach all bedbugs in structure.

3. Move Air:Specialized high output fans move heated air throughout the space to ensure heat is evenly distributed and able to reach all spaces within treatment area.

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) The man who allegedly dumped a cup of bed bugs at the Augusta City Center office pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor assault and obstructing government administration.

Charles Manning appeared in Capitol Judicial Center court room Monday morning. He faces a penalty of up to one year in prison and a $2,000 fine.

Manning talked to NEWS CENTER Monday outside the court house ahead of his arraignment saying he felt like he was about to be "executed" before his first court appearance, going on to say the public already finds him guilty due to the way he's been "portrayed by the media."

Manning said he is currently staying at Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter in Waterville. Manning expressed frustration to the judge and asked him to throw out his case.

Manning told the judge that he has been portrayed in the media as the "reincarnation of Hitler" because of the influence of the city staff at the government office where the incident happened.

According to the city's Director of Development, Matt Nazar, Manning came to the general assistance office on Friday, June 2 to request help with a bed bug problem.

He left after being told there was no help available through that office. Nazar said the man returned later that afternoon and dumped more than 100 bed bugs out of a cup onto the counter. Manning would later admit he was in the wrong office to begin with, and was actually targeting the General Assistance Department.

Kennebec County District Attorney, Meagan Maloney said the assault charge came because a bed bug landed on a city worker.

"That's an assault whether it's throwing down a container of bed bugs and having the bed bugs hit the person, whether it's throwing an open container of beer and having beer splash on someone. So it's simply looking at the actions. The actions are offensive physical contact," she said.

City hall shut down so the bed bugs could be removed and didn't reopen until Monday, June 5. Maloney said questions about Manning's responsibility and capability to cover the cost of the cleaning will be addressed as part of the legal process.

Manning is scheduled for a dispositional conference September 19. He has applied for a court appointed lawyer.

Vancouver, Surrey among most bedbug-infested cities in Canada – Sylvan Lake News

Bed bugs are tiny, yet can become such a nuisance in an otherwise happy home.

With summer season the ideal time for travel, pest control company Orkin Canada released a list Tuesday of the top 25 Canadian cities dealing with the unwelcome visitors.

RELATED: Problem plagued Maple Ridge home to be torn down

The rankings were based on all the companys bed bug treatments at residential and commercial properties from July 1, 2016 to June 30 of this year.

Toronto may appear to be the natioanl capital for the pests, but Vancouver made the list at No. 3 as the best of the worst in B.C.

Surrey also clinched the top 20 spot and Burnaby was the 21st worst for the troublesome little critters.

The top 10 cities were:

Entomologists say having a clean room does not prevent bed bugs, which can each lay up to five eggs in one day.

Orkin suggests keeping all luggage elevated while youre on vacation and away from soft furnishings.

RELATED: Bedbugs are here to stay what can we do about it?

Upon returning home, luggage should be left in the garage and all clothing run through the dryer at the highest appropriate temperature for 15 minutes.

To find bed bugs, homeowners can inspect beds, soft furnishings and framed pictures thoroughly and look for insects, blood stains, dead bugs and eggs.

Babysitter hauling 5 kids in back of bed-bug infested U-haul arrested – kgw.com

ELYRIA, Oh. -- Police in Ohio arrested two people Wednesday and issued felony charges for attempting to transport five children in the back of a U-haul truck.

Authorities say they were called to the Speedway station on Lorain Blvd. around 2 p.m. Wednesday after they received a report of people in the back of a U-haul. Fire and EMS arrived on scene first, and officers found that 25-year-old Jamie Adkins had been in the back of the truck with five children. 55-year-old Brian Dekam was allegedly driving the truck, with Adkins' fiance in the passenger seat.

The children were reportedly sweating from the heat in the back of the truck and had bed bugs, lice, and fleas on them. The youngest, just two years old, was later air-lifted to UH Rainbow in Cleveland due to heat exhaustion. None of the children had major injuries.

Officers say, Jamie Adkins told them that she was babysitting the children and had all left Cleveland to go to Jamie's Flea Market in Amherst. They were on their way back to Cleveland when they decided to stop for drinks at a Speedway gas station. A customer at the station, Matt Pearce, reportedly saw the children in the truck and called the police.

Adkins also told police that the children's biological mother, 29-year-old Kimberly Hull, knew about the plan to transport the children to the flea market in back of the truck and called it "fun." Adkins, who describes herself as the children's "godmother," had been in charge of the children for almost two weeks, and told police their mother has not seen them at all during that time.

Officials say Jamie Adkins and the alleged driver, Brian Dekam, were in Elyria Municipal Court Thursday facing multiple counts of endangering children, including one third degree felony charge for each. The judge set a personal bond of $13,000 for Adkins and $14,000 for Dekam. Both have been released and are scheduled to be arraigned next Thursday, August 10, at 2 p.m.

In addition to the children Adkins was in charge of, a 15-year-old was also in the back of the truck. All five children are in the custody of Cuyahoga County children services. Police say the four younger ones, whom Adkins had been watching, will be placed in foster care.
