Bed Bugs in Hotels | Raveable.com – hotel reviews without …

Woke up at 4 am and saw a red bug crawling on my pillow.

I caught the bug and put it in a small plastic zip lock bag.

Took it to reception and no concern at all, so I asked for a manager. He had me fill out some forms and called the police who had me fill out more forms.

He seemed nice enough, but no offer at all for compensation. Said that they were blocking off the room. I took several pictures of the bug.

The police officer also took several picture and also of the back of my neck. He said there were at least 2 possible bite marks.

They gave me a case number and said that they might contact me in a few days after their investigation. They made me feel like a criminal for reporting it!

I am sure that they knew exactly what it was, because (from Google) it seems to be the most bed bug infested hotel in Vegas.

I would never stay there again. If this were a Hampton in or most any other hotel, the room would have been free for the night and an apology. Instead they gave me my receipt for the full price of the room.

I do not anticipate that anything will be done. They did not seem to care and went through the motions to get me on my way. I assume the "cop" was some sort of hotel security. He was nice too.

I tried to attach pictures, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. The bug was very red - probably full of my blood.

About Bed Bugs | Vermont Bed Bug Dog

From the Vermont Department of Health website:

Bed bugs are small insects that feed on human blood. They are usually active at night when people are sleeping.

Bed bugs bite but do not transmit disease. Bed bugs painlessly feed on their host, injecting a tiny amount of saliva in the process, which can result in mild to severe allergic reactions.

Many people do not react to bed bug bites, though the bite may leave a small welt. Excessive scratching of these bites is highly discouraged as it can lead to secondary infections.

Here are a few images that might help when looking for evidence in your own home. Remember that any evidence found in your home should be followed up by a certified K9 inspection or a licensed pest control operator.

CAST SKINS: Live bed bug (small darker figure at the top of the image) with larger cast skin.

Bed Bugs in North Platte Close Down Local Library, My Cleaning Products Suggests a Spray to Kill Bed Bugs Anywhere

Lincoln, NE (PRWEB) May 28, 2014

Bed bugs were discovered in a library in North Platte in Nebraska. A report from nptelegraph.com related the details of it on its post dated May 24, 2014. Meanwhile, to help the public kill bed bugs anywhere fast and safe, My Cleaning Products recommended a bed bug spray.

The report shared that the infestation of the critters resulted to the shutting down of the facility on Thursday. And so the bed bug treatment could be implemented and the further spread of the pest could be prevented, it added that it will remain shut until Tuesday.

It was said in the post that the vampire-like bugs were found on Tuesday. They occupied two upholstered chairs near the front desk of the library, it relayed. As it detailed, they were particularly hiding in the cracks of the furniture.

Below is an exert from the post Bed Bugs Infest North Platte Library by My Cleaning Products.

In North Platte in Nebraska, bed bugs found their way to one local library. As a result, the facility was shut down."

"The critters were discovered on Tuesday. They were found in the two upholstered chairs near the front desk of the library hiding, particularly, in the cracks of them.

According to My Cleaning Products, because bed bugs reproduce and spread quickly, they are now very prevalent. Because of that, it stated that they could infest any place these days.

Given that, MCP asserted that one must be wary of bed bug signs. Moreover, it advised everybody to prepare a bed bug spray for an immediate bed bug treatment. That, it said, will help prevent a major infestation of them.

Nonetheless, the company only recommended the use of Bed Bug Bully. As it is both effective and safe, it stated that it is the right product for the bed bug elimination process.

Bed Bugs Shut Down Pasco County Fire Station, My Cleaning Products Suggests a Bed Bug Spray to Help Others Kill the …

Miami, FL (PRWEB) May 26, 2014

Fire Station 13 in Pasco County was forced to shut down. And according to a report from wtsp.com dated May 20, 2014, it was all because of the pesky bed bugs. In connection with it, My Cleaning Products recommended an organic-based bed bug spray to help the public kill the critters fast and safe and avoid a similar incident.

The report detailed that the critters were discovered on May 14. And as it relayed, Pasco County spokesperson, Doug Tobin, has already confirmed that two of the station's employees were bitten by them.

On May 19, the officials decided to relocate the employees and to close the firehouse for the bed bug elimination, shared the report. However, it stated that it wasn't yet determined as to when the process will be completed and the station will reopen.

Here is an excerpt from the post Bed Bugs Infest Fire Station in Pasco County by My Cleaning Products.

Bed bugs in Florida showed up in one Pasco County firehouse. As a result, the station was temporarily shut down.

The critters were particularly detected at the Pasco County Fire Station No.13 in Dayflower Boulevard. They were discovered last week, May 14th.

My Cleaning Products said that bed bugs could infest any place. Considering that, it asserted that everyone must be wary of their presence, not just firehouses.

In addition, everybody must also be prepared to kill bed bugs promptly, stressed MCP. That way, the worst of their effects, such as closure of the place and evacuation, could be prevented.

But to do that, My Cleaning Products said that one would need the help of a bed bug spray. And as it asserted, Bed Bug Bully is the best to get.

Researchers create easy, cheap way to trap bed bugs

GAINESVILLE, Fla., May 27 (UPI) --Researchers devised a bedbug trap that could be built with household items including two disposable plastic containers, masking tape, glue and talc.

A recent survey by the National Pest Management Association showed nearly every pest management professional in the United States dealt with a bedbug infestation within the past year.

Phil Koehler, an urban entomology professor at the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, said the traps catch and collect the bedbugs as they travel between people and the places where the bedbugs hide.

Koehler; Benjamin Hottel, an entomology doctoral student; Rebecca Baldwin, an assistant urban entomology professor; and Roberto Pereira, an associate research scientist created their trap with about $1 worth of household items.

The instructions can be found here and a video can be found below:

Koehler said the bedbug trap is pretty much foolproof and effective.

"It's really hard to mess this up to the point that you'd hurt anything," Koehler said in a statement.

Entomologists say bedbugs are becoming more resistant to pesticides, making the pesticide-free device even more desirable.
