How to Cure Bed Bugs – The Answer Is Surprising Says New Report from Planet Amazing
Justin Douglas of Planet Amazing says that scientists have found new evidence of bed bug resistance to traditional chemical treatments, and that non-toxic treatments are more effective.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 06, 2012
Bed bugs are usually costly and annoying problems and can even be medically dangerous due to the number of bites that bedbugs can deliver in a single night, multiplied by the fast reproduction rate of bedbugs. Bed bugs can multiply from just a few to 1,500 in 90 days, thus causing a terrible infestation that brings other problems.
"There is a bed bug cure," says Mr. Douglas. Bed Bug Shredder from Planet Amazing has helped cure thousands of bed bug infestations completely through the use of non-toxic, environmentally friendly pest control treatments. "Bed Bug Shredder will always bypass the resistance built up in bedbugs, because the bedbugs are not able to build up an immunity to our non-toxic products."
"Bed Bug Shredder from Planet Amazing is one of three products we have that are highly effective and non-toxic for treating bedbugs. We have a spray, a powder and a laundry additive, all of which work together to form a wall of protection around your family and home when bedbugs are attacking. Best of all, you do not need an expensive exterminator when you have the Planet Amazing bedbug cure products."

Bed Bugs Reported At Redding Hotel
POSTED: 6:42 pm PST March 6, 2012 REDDING, Calif. -- Mike Rigney said he was bitten more than 200 times by bed bugs when he stayed at the Motel 6 on Twin View Boulevard in Redding in February. The Shasta County Environmental Health Division checked out the motel. Eleven rooms were already blocked off and being treated by a local pest control company. They said as long as the rooms are being cleaned out professionally, then they just document it.We wanted to get the facts on bed bugs, so we went to Shasta County Public Health Nurse, Cindy Lakmann. She said bed bugs are more common than you think.Lakmann tell us bed bugs have "nothing to do with filth. Bed bugs don't transfer diseases to humans and they can be anywhere. Lots of times, they come from other hotels, other places and they hitch a ride in your luggage. Most people who get bitten by bed bugs don't know they've been bitten; they don't have any welts."Lakmann says you might be able to see bed bugs, if you know what to look for. They're rust colored and about the size of an apple seed. She said they're usually found in the sheets or under the mattress. If you get bitten, the only way to treat it is with over-the-counter itch cream.BED BUG REGISTRY

Cleveland safety forces battling bedbugs
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Bedbugs have become so prevalent in Cleveland that the city now keeps two ambulances in reserve just to replace others as they become infested with the blood-sucking insects.
The city's Emergency Medical Service also has started issuing protective gowns, booties and hair nets to ambulance crews entering bedbug hotspots tracked by dispatchers on a computer database. The list, which expands andthen contracts as bugs are exterminated, stood at 52 addresses Friday.
"We've taken a very aggressive approach," said Nicole Carlton, acting EMS commissioner. "We always tell our people to be very vigilant."
Bedbugs have made a nationwide resurgence, reaching Cincinnati several years ago and then migrating up Interstate 71. Fire stations in Cincinnati and Columbus have battled infestations.
The Cleveland Department of Public Health recorded 497 bedbug complaints last year, up from 296 the year before. The Cuyahoga County Board of Health, which covers areas other than Cleveland and Shaker Heights, handled 161 cases in 2011, more than four times the volume two years earlier.
The speck-size, burrowing insects pose no serious health threats, but their bites are painful. Infestations also are difficult to find and eradicate.
In November, Cleveland officials brought a bedbug-sniffing Jack Russell terrier into an ambulance base. The dog, trained to detect the scent of human blood, found bedbugs in a chair. The same day, the terrier checked out ambulance service headquarters -- often used for community CPR and first-aid training -- but turned up nothing.
Police Chief Michael McGrath issueda memolast month advising officers to be on the lookout for bedbugs. He made recommendations for avoiding contact -- for example, don't sit in homes visited on the job -- and said uniforms thought to be infested should be sealed in plastic until washed and dried at high, bedbug-killing temperatures.
Jeff Follmer, president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association, went one step farther this week after fielding complaints from union members.
Follmer bought two cases of a spray -- 24 bottles at $15 each -- that kills the bugs by means of dehydration. He then delivered the spray, an all-natural blend not subject to federal environment regulations, to stations.

Top Entomologists Call 2012 Pivotal Year in Bed Bug War
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Leading experts participating in a recent Bed Bug Summit have called 2012 a critical year in the goal to control the U.S. bed bug invasion. Entomologists, pest control professionals and manufacturers of products designed to stem the bed bug tide all weighed-in, and agreed that what we do this year will be crucial.
Each year the challenges of fighting bed bugs change and grow, said James Bell, CEO of Protect-A-Bed, a company that makes mattress encasement products to keep bed bugs away from their human prey. Now that the industry has begun working together its easier to see the best way forward.
Some Cities Winning, Others in the Crosshairs
Experts agreed that bed bug reports in some large U.S. cities such as New York will plateau in 2012 due mainly to increased education and prevention. However, they caution that the number of reports is expected to grow in other cities not previously experiencing high levels of bed bug colonies, especially in Southern states.
Out of Home Infestations to Rise
Most of the experts also predicted a significant increase in bed bug colonies outside the home, in places like hotels and office buildings.
According to Peter Trentacoste, assistant vice president of Student Affairs at Northern Kentucky University, staying vigilant for bed bugs is important to keeping the pests out of public places. He explained that in order to fight the bugs, talking about the issue and providing education is a key.
In relation to colleges and universities, there are quite a few places that continue to have their heads in the sand, Trentacoste said. They dont want to talk about bed bugs until they have a major issue.
