A state building in Chicago was found to have bed bugs earlier this month. News website cbslocal.com related the details of it on its post dated March 20, 2014. In response to it, My Cleaning Products recommended a bed bug spray in order to help the residents protect themselves from the possible spread of the blood-sucking critters.

The report shared that Illinois Department of Revenue spokeswoman Sue Hofer confirmed that bed bugs were spotted in the state's Thomas Center. However, it stated that the affected offices of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation were already treated. As it added, employees were also informed of the incident and were instructed how to prevent the further spread.

The critters were sighted in seven cubicles of a floor accessed only by state employees, said the report. And as it detailed, one staff with a bed bug infestation at home was tracked as the source of them.

Bed bugs have invaded an apartment complex in Petersburg, Virginia. A report from wric.com dated March 10, 2014, related the details of the incident. Meanwhile, wanting to help anyone dealing with the critters, My Cleaning Products suggested the use of a pesticide-exempt bed bug spray to make the process effective and safe.

The report said that as confirmed by the management, the critters had been bothering the complex since 2012. And as it shared, they had already devised a plan, met with the residents and hired five different exterminators to resolve the problem.

Nonetheless, based on the news post, it was only recently that the housing authority discovered a treatment method that worked effectively in the complex. It detailed that 13 units of the building already went through it. By April, it added that five more would be treated and an additional 45 rooms would be finished after that.

Kalynn Trammell was renting to own a couch for her Brazoria apartment hoping to find comfort. Instead she says all she found was a pack of unwanted pests -- Bed bugs and clusters of bed bug eggs. "It's just been hell. It's disgusting," she said.

Now she has dozens of bite marks all over he body. "I've got 'em on my leg, I've got 'em on my back, inner thigh, legs here... 30 to 40 bites, all resulting in scars," she said. She's even staying with a neighbor and sleeping on the floor because her apartment has yet to be disinfected.

Trammell thinks she had an allergic reaction to the bites and is now covered with bumps and scars. "Every bite has resulted in a scar, I have to look at it for the rest of my life. I look like I've been doing drugs," said Trammell.

The Rent-A-Center in Clute where she got the furniture took the couch away, refunded her payment, and sent an exterminator out to inspect her apartment. But he did not spray it. A company spokesperson tells Fox 26 News they believe the bed bugs were already there claiming bugs were found in the baseboards, outlets and mattress. "No they were not, I've been here for 2 years. They were not in my home prior," said Trammell.

The spokesperson goes on to say that their stores go to "great lengths" to sanitize all furniture before it's rented. Trammell thinks they missed hers. "Right now I want them to exterminate my home, I want my furniture and I want this past me, I don't want to deal with it no more because it's been a nightmare for me," she said.

Rent-A-Center says they want to make their customers happy, but they don't have a definitive answer to who's at fault in this case.
