THE BEDBUG
Twas on a sultry summer night, The moon was shining calm and bright, When from my couch I rose to fight The bedbug.
I uttered many a sad lament, As on my murderous search intent, Into each hidden crack I went For bedbugs.
My wretched limbs were smarting well, And O, my anguish who can tell, As oft I caught the sickening smell Of bedbugs.
Their stinging bites, how well I know When, with a sure, death-dealing blow, I pounce upon my luckless foe, The bedbug.
And ever, how my spirit grieves, As 'mong the Bible's sacred leaves I find those dirty, skulking thieves, The bedbugs.
And oft I start, in dread affright, When on the parson's collar white There scrambles out, in plainest sight, The bedbug.
And through my head this query ran: How in the name of mercy can To church a decent, Christian man Bring bedbugs?
And let them run and dodge about, Play 'hide and seek,' and in and out Upon the carcass of the lout, Unheeded.
Should 'auld Nick's' pitchfork need a prong, Wherewith to probe the tortured throng, He only needs to send along Some bedbugs.

Chris was an excellent pest control technician!! He was really professional on his initial call to confirm my scheduled appointment the day before service. Upon his arrival he explained to me what the process was and assisted me with moving items around in the basement where he needed to complete the termite treatment process.
Sharnae L., Washington D.C.
We recently had a bat infestation taken care of which left drywall and insulation needing to be replaced. We had Connor's patch the holes and repaint the ceiling. Marquis was our lead carpenter doing all the repairs. He was extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Thank you for all your hard work and great attitude!
Rebecca C., Woodbridge, VA
I am a long-time residential customer of Connor''s pest and termite control. I just wanted you to know what a great job Martin does in taking great care of our home. He is always on time, so professional, and does his work thoroughly and very competently. And, he is personable and always has a smile on his face. In short, we could not be happier with his outstanding service. He is an asset to your company, and we wanted you to know.
Jeff Q., Vienna VA
I wanted to write to commend your technician Renel Antonio. Renel has serviced my home over the past year. He arrives on time and is very considerate and easy to work with. He listens carefully and addresses whatever questions I have regarding treatment options. He explains those options and his recommendations for treatment clearlyincluding, for example, the ecology-sensitive methods that I prefer. He always adds that I should not hesitate to call if I need him back for any reason. Renel obviously is dedicated to his work and it is a pleasure having him service my home.
From Ron H.
I have been quite remiss in thanking Connor's Pest Protection for the professional and thorough service you provided to my home between December and February. I was very pleased to work with Allen and George to be rid of a few persistent bed bugs, that thankfully did not develop into a major infestation. Distressful, nevertheless! Please let their manager know of my gratitude for a job well done.
From Susi S.
We've used Connors Pest Control for several years. During our last service appointment, Sherman (our present service technician) advised he'll be transferring to Prince William County and will no longer be servicing our home in Ashburn. I'd like you to know Sherman has taken great care with our home and has been, without exception, very accomodating to our service needs. It's been a pleasure to work with him.
From Dave D.
Thank you does not begin to be enough to say for all your help during a difficult time in our life. Please thank your entire staff Carlos, Joe, Katie, and anyone else who was working behind the scenes. They were courteous, professional, and accommodating beyond my wildest expectations, meeting ridiculous deadlines and staying calm and professional throughout the ordeal. You make termites pleasant or almost.
From Chris A.
I am very satisfied. Connors provides very good pest control service always. Thank you!
From Laurence F.
I was planning to write a note today to commend the serve we received from one of your technicians. I cant read her signature on the invoice. The pest control technician made her last follow-up at our home yesterday. She was delightful, helpful and knowledgeable, and as you can see below, we are recommending Connors for additional business based upon our experience with her. We hope that you are able to locate her to pass along our appreciation, and know that her work reflects really well on your business. And she solved our ant problem. 🙂
From Lynn R.
Michael is excellent to work with and Im extremely happy with Connors Pest Control!

VA Bed Bug Control & Removal – Bed Bugs in Virginia
Adult bed bugs are wingless, have six legs, about the size of an apple seed and are reddish-brown in color. The bed bug has three distinct life stages eggs, nymphs, and adults. Nymph and adult bed bugs feed on blood and will take a blood meal about once per week. Female bed bugs must consume blood and mate with a male in order to produce fertile eggs. These eggs are very small and resemble a grain of salt. An adult female generally will live for about a year under favorable conditions and during her lifetime will lay hundreds of eggs.
Bed bugs get into homes and businesses by hitchhiking on items brought from other locations. The more common manner of introduction is with infested luggage, clothing, backpacks, used or discarded furniture, and a host of other infested items. The best advice to avoid a bed bug problem is to thoroughly inspect all of your personal items after traveling or anytime something new is brought into the household. Always be suspicious.
What is the first indication that bed bugs are in your home? They are small, reclusive in their behavior, and generally only show themselves at night when occupants are asleep. So the answer may be the presence of unexplained bites or skin irritation. But not everyone reacts to bed bug bites in the same way. In fact, some people do not react for several days after being bitten and some people to not react at all. As a result, homeowners must be aware of other signs and indications of bed bugs.
Obviously, actually seeing bed bugs when doing your own inspection is a great indicator. Since bed bugs are active while you are asleep, begin your inspection in the bedroom where you sleep. Bed bugs like to commune together, so look for them in their obscure, protective hiding places such as along mattress seams, behind head boards and foot boards, in cracks and gaps at the floor/wall junction, along baseboards, around door and window facings, in night stands or any area within several feed of your bed.
What you look for during the inspection are the bed bugs black-colored fecal droppings, their cast skins left behind after they molt from one stage to another and blood spots on the bed clothing. This very time-consuming inspection can be done by the homeowner; however, the best option is to have your pest professional do the work.

Beware of bed bugs: 7 things to know about the blood-sucking critters – The Straits Times
SINGAPORE - Low-cost carrier Scoot and cinemachain Golden Village are under the microscope, after their customers complained of being bitten by bed bugs last week.
Scoot passenger Jiamin Han noticed bites on her arms and backfollowingflights from Singapore to Hong Kong and back, while cinema patron Debra Low complained about the bugs at two of Golden Village's cinemas.
Scoot has since apologised to Ms Han and said it is investigating the alleged incident, adding that it regularly cleans and disinfects its seats.
Golden Village, meanwhile, said it had blocked off the affected seats once it received Ms Low's feedback. The company also shared that it hires a pest control unit that conducts monthly inspections for all its cinemas.
The problem of the blood-sucking critters has emerged in recent years, with website BedBug Central reporting that populations have multiplied since the 1990s.
They can now be found in almost every country and region. Here are some things to know about them.
They are parasitic insects that feed exclusively on blood. They come out of their hiding places at night and feed on the exposed skin of the host, usually without the person's knowledge.
Adult bed bugs are about the size of an apple seed, up to 5mm long, and can survive up to a year without feeding.
The parasites thrive in places with a frequent turnover of people, such as hotel rooms, airplanes and taxis.
International travel has often been cited as a contributor to the rise of bed bugs.
Red, itchy bites that have the appearance of flat, red welts in zigzag lines or small clusters.

Do not scratch the bites as this may lead to blisters or skin infections. Instead, wash and treat them with an anti-itch cream or apply calamine lotion. Then seek a doctor's advice.
If not scratched, the areas bitten may heal in a week or two.
When planning where to stay, check for recent complaints of hotel infestations on BedbugRegistry.com or Bedbugger.com
Check reviews before booking a hotel room as guests who have encountered bed bugs are likely to mention this in their hotel review.

When inspecting a room, check the surface of the mattress and under the blankets, especially in the corners, mattress seams and around the headboard. Pay particular attention to cracks, crevices, seams and folds.
Look for dried blackish spots, skin sheddings and even live bugs. Use a torch or the light from your smartphone to help you spot them more easily.
If you want to be extra careful, use a hairdryer and run it across the surfaces you are inspecting. The heat should send any bed bugs scurrying out.
When inspecting the room, place your luggage in the bathtub. Bed bugs generally do not like smooth, hard surfaces as they are difficult to hide in.
When packing or unpacking your luggage, place it on the luggage rack away from walls, the bed or the couch - places where bedbugs commonly reside. But before doing this, check that there are no bed bugs on the luggage rack.
Pack your dirty clothes in sealable bags if you think you have been in bed bug-infested quarters.
Destroy any bugs or eggs in your luggage. Place them on the hard surface floor and not on the sofa or bed.
Wash dirty clothes in warm or hot water, then dry them in a dryer on a hot setting. This is sufficient to kill bed bugs in clothing or linens.
Then, sun your bags under direct sunlight for at least 30 minutes.
If the infestation is localised, cleaning the area with a vacuum cleaner that produces hot steam is enough. But if the whole house is affected, it is advisable to engage a pest control company.
