New York, NY (PRWEB) September 17, 2013

A family in New York City was plagued by bed bugs for more than a year already. And blaming the pests' persistence to the Housing Authority, a report from silive.com, published on September 16, 2013, stated that they demanded monetary relief from the agency. Meanwhile, agreeing that the vampire-like critters could indeed be insistent, My Cleaning Products suggested a pesticide-exempt product to eliminate the critters completely.

According to the news article, it was particularly the Aponte Family of Staten Island that decided to take legal action against NYC's Housing Authority over the presence of bed bugs in their apartment, My Cleaning Products shared. It detailed though that the amount they asked wasn't specified.

In the report, Blanch Aponte said that the bed bug problem in their unit, which started in August last year, forced them to an exile of sort, MCP relayed. It stated, based on her statement, that it kept her son and two daughters from sleepovers in the fear of carrying the critters to others. And as it added, it also left them with scabs all over.

The report said that the family's unit was already treated seven or eight times by an exterminator sent by the Housing Authority, related MCP. However, it stated that the pests continued to infest the place. And though she asked to be transferred, Blanch Aponte said that the agency did not comply.

Here's an excerpt from the post Staten Island Family Blames Housing Authority for Persistent Bed Bugs in Apartment by My Cleaning Products.

Once introduced into a place, bed bugs are very hard to get rid. A family in Staten Island learned that the hard way after living with those critters for a year and a half. And for that, they are asking the city to pay for the incurred damages.

The Apontes were particularly the ones demanding for payment. Blanche and Jose Aponte filed a suit, specifically against the New York City's Housing Authority for the more-than-a-year-long presence of the tiny vampire-like insects in their Mariners Harbor apartment.

Bed bugs could be indeed insistent said My Cleaning Products. However, transferring a house or throwing away the contaminated items could not keep them away forever, it stated. So, rather than taking those steps, it advised the public to learn how to prevent and kill bed bugs promptly instead.

Preventing bed bugs or eliminating them immediately, in case they get past the preventive measures, could save one from a major infestation, MCP said. In turn, that could spare a person from a huge bed bug expense, it concluded.
