Theyve already been borrowing an unused local studio for some shows in recent weeks. So studio space is tight.

Out of heightened caution, additional facilities on the third floor were temporarily closed. The decision was made to ensure the safety and comfort of personnel and guests alike, according to internal communications.

To address the infestation, professional exterminators were contacted to thoroughly treat the affected studio, including surrounding green rooms and the control room. Ensuring a comprehensive approach to the problem, an environmental K-9 detection team was scheduled to assess the success of the extermination effort and conduct further inspections throughout the third-floor newsrooms.

In a follow-up to the days disturbances, a network insider indicated that the communication about the situation was part of a broader notification process. They assured that the studio reopened an hour or so after the memo went out and the inspection was complete.

Staff can be reached at 202-636-3000.

See original here:
MSNBC staffers flee bed bug infestation at 30 Rockefeller Plaza ahead of Super Tuesday - Washington Times

MSNBCs headquarters in Manhattan this week experienced bed-bug sightings that led to a swift evacuation of staff as the network prepared for its Super Tuesday coverage.
