Scoot investigating alleged bed bug bites on S’pore-HK round-trip … – Mothership.sg (registration)

A frequent flyer took to Facebook to complain about bed bug bites on her arm after flying on Singapore-Hong Kong round-trip Scoot flights during the day.

The woman said the bed bug bites appeared on Aug. 8 after taking a day trip to Hong Kong and back.

She also pointed out an earlier complaint by another passenger from about a year ago about developing what appears to be bite marks on the arm after flying on Scoot.

In response to media queries, Scoot told Mothership.sg that the previous incident was investigated and no bed bugs were found.

Scoot said in its statement it has reached out to the passenger from this latest incident and are investigating:

We regularly clean and disinfect our seats to ensure a pleasant and clean cabin experience for our guests. Our investigation into the previously reported case found that there were no bed bugs on board our aircraft. Regardless, we take this seriously and are currently investigating after having gotten in touch with the guest for more details. Thank you.

Scoot had also replied to the woman on the Facebook page and requested that she contact the carrier with her booking reference number.
