Grim video shows West London home with ‘worst bed bug infestation ever’ – My London

A pest controller has released a grim video of 'one of the worst cases' of bug infestations he's ever seen, revealing that the tenant continued to sleep in the mattress that was crawling with insects. He described his shock as he found out the house was covered in bugs- from the mattress to walls of the property.

David Piggott was called to the address in Kingsbury, Brent, last week to reports of a bug infestation within the house. On arriving he found one of the worst cases ever and was shocked by the amount of bugs that were crawling over the house. He took pictures and a video which show the extent to which the house had been taken over by the biting insects.

David said: The property is covered from living room to bedrooms upstairs with Bed Bugs. I've never seen one this bad and to imagine the customer still sleeps on the bed in the video is truly shocking.

We attended the property to investigate biting insects, upon inspection the Bed Bugs were crawling up the walls in the living room and the bedrooms. The property is severely infested and would require a professional Heat Treatment to eliminate the infestation.

The pictures and video show the hordes of insects that made home in the tenants bed and also infected the walls. There are so many bugs in the house that it would mean the tenant has to leave his property before treatment can start. Heat treatment would kill the pests and hopefully remove their presence from the house.

Most shocking of all, David said that the tenant was still sleeping in the bed that was overridden. There are three sections of infestation upon the mattress and in the video you can see them moving about. Usually, bed bugs can be treated by putting your bedding and clothes in hot water for 30 minutes. After that you then put them in a dryer on the highest heat setting for 30 minutes. Also using a steamer on mattresses, couches, and other places where bed bugs hide is advised.

In this case, David and his team would have to steam the whole house because the infestation was so rampant. Bed bugs feed on blood, but are not known to spread any diseases to humans.
