A bed bug infestation is one of the worst things to happen to a home. What makes these pests such is that they feed on the blood of whatever they cling to, from humans to animals in order to reproduce, and they are also a challenge to treat as they are also immune to pesticides. Bed bugs have flat oval bodies and are brownish in color, almost resembling an apple seed.

This odor is a pheromone released by bed bugs, and the more they are, the stronger the smell will be.

The third sign can be spotted on the bedsheets or pillowcases that are used. If there are rust-colored spots, it could be the blood from bed bugs or their exoskeletons as these bugs also shed their skin. Bed bugs tend to leave stains after feeding, so it is important to check the sheets, especially the corners of the bed.

In case of a possible infestation, wash all the contaminated bed sheets, pillowcases, blankets, and clothing in hot water and use the highest setting when drying. It is also advised to contact the local pest control company in order to properly get rid of the infestation.
